Megan Nunez, AFC® and CFP® candidate, has worked exclusively in the financial industry since 2007 with extensive expertise in financial planning and investment operations. Areas of focus include CRM strategy and workflow design in addition to data management, client engagement, and holistic fintech strategy/solutions for RIAs from $100M-$500M AUM.
From an early age, Megan aspired to work in wealth management leading to her studies of economics and finance at UHWO, where she also served as an Economics tutor. After graduating with top marks, Megan completed an extensive internship with Merrill Lynch and was eventually awarded a Military Spouse Fellowship from AFCPE® (Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education) culminating in the Accredited Financial Counselor® designation. Previously, Megan served the American military community in Germany as a personal financial counselor guiding active-duty soldiers and their families in all areas of wealth management.
Upon returning stateside, Megan joined a boutique registered investment advisor serving on the operations team. She quickly advanced roles eventually performing advanced financial analyses and retirement projections for clients in addition to managing the firm’s CRM software as process improvement lead. Special projects include data migration and codification, new hire recruitment and training, event planning/teambuilding, and financial analyses preparation/comprehensive paraplanning. Her technological skills brought her to a startup fintech firm where she laid the program foundation to produce automated back-office operations.
As a military spouse who relocates frequently, Megan has always been an active leader in her local community receiving numerous awards for outstanding volunteerism. Previously, Megan served as a volunteer for the 1-21 IN Family Readiness Group, and served as family support leader for the 254th Medical Detachment. She also served on the board of directors as treasurer for the Fort Benning Community Spouses Club (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) and in 2016 Megan was awarded the prestigious “Volunteer of Excellence” from the Maneuver Center at Fort Benning, GA. Since 2022, Megan has been an active participant with the Oakleaf Club – a non-profit organization serving the military community of Washington DC.
Megan currently resides in Maryland where she works as a wealth management consultant while pursuing the CFP®/Certified Financial Planner® designation via a scholarship through the American College of Financial Services. In her free time, Megan enjoys gardening, hiking, and traveling with her husband and two children.
